Claire's Swedish Spritz

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. almond extract (more if you like)
  • 2/3 cups sugar
  • 2¼ cups flour
  • 3 egg yolks

How to Make Swedish Spritz

  1. Cream butter and sugar, then add egg yolks one at a time, beating between each addition.
  2. Add the extract and flour (a little at a time).
  3. Put through (thin) cookie press directly onto cookie sheet. Cover with colored sprinkles, and slice into pieces.
  4. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Doubling recipe does not work well.
  • Use a very good butter.
  • Handle as little as possible.
  • Place dough waiting to be used in a plastic container, as it will dry out, and be harder to press.
  • Remove from cookie sheet immediately.
