Pierre Buhannic

Project Manager

Pierre joined The Brooklyn Studio in the fall of 2021. Previously, he worked for Shalat Architects and Becker & Becker Associates in New York, and Shigeru Ban Architects in Paris. He brings with him a wide range of professional experience including commercial, single and multi-family residential, high-rise residential, museum, office, and television and movie studio projects.

In 2015, Pierre earned his DPEA in Post-Carbon architecture from the École des Ponts ParisTech. He earned a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from the École d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires (EAVT). His culminating Master’s project, based on the refurbishment of a 1960s residential complex in Clichy-Montfermeil, was exhibited as part of the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale.

Pierre was born in Switzerland and raised in Paris. He also lived in the United States for several years as a child, and he moved to Brooklyn permanently in 2015. In his free time, he enjoys origami and teaching his son how to play soccer.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Going on a road trip somewhere I’ve never been before with my family.

Sneakers.

The shoes I wore at my wedding: bespoke Nike Air Max 1.

Where would you like to live?

I lived in a few different places and moved halfway across the globe to get here; I think Brooklyn is pretty great.

What quality do you most admire in others?

Being optimistic under stressful conditions.
