Emilio Olivas

Emilio joined The Brooklyn Studio in the summer of 2026. He is from the Texas-Chihuahua border, where he grew up in Ciudad Juarez. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Texas Tech University in 2021, graduating magna cum laude. In 2025, he earned a Master of Architecture from Princeton University. His thesis at Princeton explored regulated coastal development in Oaxaca, Mexico, focusing on how architecture can support tourism while protecting local communities.

During his final year at Princeton, he co-ran the Princeton School of Architecture Radio, where he hosted two different music shows. While at Princeton, he also worked with Besler & Sons, building models for the Art Omi exhibition and the 2025 Venice Biennale, with the work displayed inside the Stirling Pavilion. Before joining the studio, Emilio worked in Los Angeles, designing high-end residential projects.

Outside of architecture, he enjoys running and cycling, and he tries to run a marathon every year.
