Abdou joined The Brooklyn Studio in 2010 following his graduation from the Spitzer School of Architecture at The City College of New York.

Over the years, Abdou has had a hand in many of The Brooklyn Studio’s residential projects. He has extensive experience with construction documents and detailing building components.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

To not have an idea of perfect happiness.

Whatever is required for the next challenge.

Blue.

Depends which time and space.

There are so many. I don’t know where to begin.

Louis Kahn, among others.

What is the trait that you most appreciate in a building?

It brings awareness of your environment.

What is your favorite type of project to work on?

Something that requires new problems to solve; something new to learn.

There are so many. I don’t know where to begin.

What is your most treasured possession?

Experiencing life with loved ones.

Where would you like to live?

A place of growth and acknowledgment of the human spirit.

What quality do you most admire in others?

Whatever makes them their true self; not afraid to embrace their true self.
